THESIS:
Liberalism does not function through a party structure but rather through an ethical and ideological framework. However, liberal thinking is possible within progressive factions across different parties, from moderate conservatives to the new left, and even within agrarian parties.
Together with fraternity and equality, liberalism, according to Bertrand Russell, is the other side of the same coin that represents democratic socialism and liberal democracy – a brother to the social democrat, though some are distinguished by their attitude, namely open-mindedness.
Open-mindedness as an attitude is more than just selective tolerance that looks down from above.
